Basketball
We are excited to introduce basketball, both in P.E. and as an extra-curricular activity.
We will NOT be playing in an inter-zone league but rather having practices and then 2 jamboree (tournament-style one-day event) dates. Depending on the number of students we have interested in playing basketball, we may only take Gr. 5 students to the basketball jamboree dates because the Gr. 4s have an opportunity to go next year as Gr. 5s.
Here is our practice schedule. Boys and girls will be practicing and playing separately.
The coaches will be: Coach Sidhu (boys) and Coach Krause (girls).
Monday – 8:00-8:35am (morning) - BOYS
Wednesday – 12:30-12:55pm (lunch) - BOYS
Monday – 12:30-12:55pm (lunch) - GIRLS
Tuesday – 2:45-3:45pm (after school) - GIRLS
The jamboree dates are as follows:
Tuesday, March 3 (girls)
Thursday, March 5 (boys)
at St. John Brebeuf high school
Wednesday, March 11 (girls)
Thursday, March 12 (boys)
at Mouat high school
The first game of the jamboree will start at 3:20pm and be finished by 6pm at the latest, but it just depends on when our last game is.
The before school and lunch practices will begin the week of Monday, Feb. 9th
This only applies to students who have been given permission on School Cash Online by Friday, February 6.
