Year End Letter

June 29, 2020

Principal's Message

Dear Parents & Guardians,

As the 2019-2020 school year comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents, teachers and support staff for working so hard this year. It has been a year of changes, and everyone has embraced these changes to continue to provide the best education they could for our students. I have been reminded many times of the virtues that were taught this year; perseverance has taken on new meaning during these "COVID times."

First and foremost, a special thank you to the parents who volunteered in our building in various roles during Terms 1 and 2. Also, a huge thank you to all parents for supporting their child(ren) in Term 3 with their learning at home.

With the year-end comes the time to say goodbye to staff that will be moving on to future aspirations. We wish Ms. Teillet well as she will be teaching at Centennial Park Elementary next year. Ms. Khakh, Mrs. Mathers, Mrs. Cousins, and Mrs. Warkentin will be moving to other schools in our District as positions become available. A huge thank you to these teachers for their effort, dedication and care for our students. We also want to thank several EAs who will be leaving us as well: Mrs. Brown and Ms. Sabo. Thank you for your effort, dedication and care for our students.

I also want to thank Mrs. Sidhu, for her hard work, kindness, and dedication to our students. We want to wish you well as you join the Blue Jay community and become their Vice-Principal.

Other staffing changes in September include welcoming back Mrs. Hegberg who will be taking a Grade 4/5 position, and Mrs. Manky, who will be returning from her maternity leave to resume her position as Vice-Principal. New additions to our staff are Ms. Wong, who will be joining our primary team, as well as, Mrs. Brown, who will be joining our support staff team.

By the end of August, or beginning of September, we hope to have more information around the specifics of school start up for all classes in the 2020-2021 school year. At this time, school start up has yet to be decided upon by our Provincial Health Officer. Please look to our website for further information as it gets closer to school opening. We are hopeful that we will see you in our buildings on Tuesday, September 8th!

Finally, I would like to wish the Grade 5 students all the best as they move on to middle school.

To all of our Clearbrook families, have a wonderful and restful summer!

Mrs. Janice MacKay
